Using this palette
The gray-greens here (#2C3639, #3F4E4F) are trying to capture a specific real phenomenon — the sickly green-gray cast the sky takes on under severe storm cells — rather than a generic 'moody gray.' #A27B5C, a warm tan, is included as the sliver of warm light that breaks through storm clouds low on the horizon, and it's the only non-cool tone in the set; use it sparingly as a single accent, not a fill. #1B1B1B provides real black for grounding text or UI chrome. Fits dramatic editorial, outdoor/adventure, or dark-academia-adjacent branding; too heavy and low-key for anything that needs to feel light or inviting.
