About ChromaWell

ChromaWell is a color and design toolkit built for people who work with color professionally — developers implementing a design system and designers checking their work before it ships. It started from a simple frustration: most color tools online bury a working converter or contrast checker under a colorful, opinionated interface, an account wall, or an ad-heavy layout, when the actual job — convert this hex, check this contrast ratio, find the nearest named color — takes a few seconds if the tool gets out of the way.

So the interface here is deliberately neutral: near-white, near-black, and a small range of refined grays, with the only brand flourish confined to the logomark's prism gradient. A tinted card or a colorful hero background would quietly distort how a color reads next to it — the wrong thing to do on a site whose entire purpose is showing color accurately.

Every calculation on the site — conversions between hex, RGB, HSL, HSV, CMYK, Lab, and OKLCH; WCAG contrast ratios; color-blindness simulation; nearest-name lookups against 1,094 named colors — runs through a single, shared, unit-tested color-core library rather than being reimplemented per tool. • 120 curated theme palettes and 148 "goes with" color-combination pages, plus 24 color-meaning pages covering the real etymology, cultural variation, and design use of each major color.
